Your Guide to Labor and Birth

Pregnancy is an exciting time and the birth of a child should be a joyful experience. However, we understand that often times that excitement and joy goes hand-and-hand with anxiety and fear, especially for first-timers.  WMRC is proud to offer their FREE Labor and Birth class, taught by our Child Birth Educator.  With the proper guidance, education, and support, those anxieties can be relieved and you can become more confident in your abilities during labor, postpartum, and the newborn stages.  We understand the importance of a support person during this time and we encourage you to bring your support person along to these classes.

What can you expect?

• Before you give birth
  • Making arrangements, taking care of yourself, coping techniques for labor discomfort, how to prepare your body for labor, and more.
• What happens during childbirth
  • Understanding labor, medical interventions, types of births, and more.
• After you give birth
  • Caring for your newborn, postpartum changes and self-care, breastfeeding, and more.

The class will be held in the WRMC Wellness Works Classroom, located at 125 Hospital Drive, Watertown, WI 53098. Enter through the Emergency Department entrance.
